Beautification Projects / Cleanups
Here are links to photos of various beautification and gardening projects I have taken on.
Hartman's Rock Garden is a historic landmark in Springfield, Ohio that has suffered neglect due to the failing health and then death of the son of the man who created it back in the 30's. These photos show what was accomplished in our first work trip to this site.
This small property is owned by an elderly woman whose health is failing. We were contacted by the Council on the Aging when she was cited by the city and given one week to "fix" the problems. Since medicaid does not cover work outside the home and she did not have the means to pay, this project would be an ideal candidate to be covered by funds raised from this web site. As it is, my wife and I did the work for a $10 donation.
This was my major project for 2008 with all work having been done by hand. The vegetable garden was started to support our new food ministry. We also use some of the produce for church dinners. We were picking 100 pounds of collards every two weeks.
